Default Some Pre-Sear Questions

I just started playing a few days ago and I have some questions.

1) When do you go out of pre-searing? I've done all the quests I can find, but there is one more involving going out to war (in Ascalon)...
2) What lvl would be good to leave pre-sear with?

Depends on how you play. I always lvl until 8 or 9. Doing all quests and than leave is good strategy. I personally make sure that I have at least 2K of gold on me, so I can buy better armour fast, when I arrive in post-sear. At that time I have the respectable lvl of 9.

It's personal preference. You can leave as soon as you have a second prof. Some people hate pre and bolt out of there at level one. Others want to gain as much expereince and loot as they can. Even after completing all quests, they'll hunt Charr to level up and stock up on loot. You can get some fairly decent weapons and minor runes off a dead Charr. Personally, I leave somewhere around level 8-10. I like killing Charr.

Yeah, you want to hang on to those until you get to Post. Black is going for about 6k I believe and silver is about 550g.

Keep both

Black selling for 6-6.5k and siver 400-500g.

Plenty for a new set of armour when you have finished pre-searing

For a newbie, you incredibly keen on silver and black dye. I found all colours on pre-sear and never found a reason to tell people about it.

Stick around in pre-sear until you get tired of finding dyes. You can earn quite a nest egg since dyes seem to drop more frequently in pre-searing. Just don't get too used to it. lol

I always create new characters just for that. I often find 5 or 6 dyes, untill I am lvl 9.
Not much luck with black dyes lately. I want to paint my costume (Monks have no armour )

Damn...2 blacks...I gave been playing for 10 months and only ever found 3. That definitely puts you ahead of your classmates, as far as the weight of your wallet. Level 8 is probably the best to leave at, because you will have done most everyhting in pre, and you will able to lay the smack down on stuff in post.

The question you didn't ask is which quests to make sure you do before leaving pre-searing.

I bet there already are guides somewhere that some nice people can post links to. But off the top of my head (and these categories overlap a bit):

1. All the skill quests for your primary and secondary professions.
2. All the quests that you can get given to you in the village of Ashford, except maybe the prize hogs and the prize moa bird (I usually do the latter but not the former). This includes the Tithe for Ashford Abbey one, which gives you a skill point.
3. All the quests that you can get given to you in or right outside the city of Ascalon, except may the renegade wizard.
4. The letter Duke Barradin asks you to carry to Fort Ranik.
5. The quest Lady Althea gives you to kill the bull, and the Hungry Devourer followup.
6. As many of the Catacombs quests as you can stand to do.
7. If you haven't picked your secondary profession yet, do all the skill quests you can for the other secondaries. You'll be glad later on in the game, when you get the opportunity to repeatedly change your secondary profession.

Basically, the least replaceable commodity you get from quests are skills and skill points. Any quests which give those as rewards should be done, as should the prerequsites to such quests. Otherwise, you should at least do the ones that are easy and fun. I included Hungry Devourer because it later explains a minor plot point, and also because it's easy.

I have been pretty much everywhere and some of the people that give quests aren't doing it... Like I've been to Prince Rurick I dunno how many times and we never went against Charr... So far the last thing I can find to do is leave. I'm lvl 8 - 70% to lvl 9 - and I have money to buy armor when I get there...

EDIT- Quests I haven't done:
Bandit Raid
Charr at the Gate
Charr in the Catacombs
A Gift for Althea
The Poison Devourer
Poor Tenant
The Rogue's Replacement
The Wayward Wizard

Like I said, I've been to alot of these people but they have no quest for me to do :\

There's a pretty good FAQ on GameFaqs that I was reading... It had all the pre-reqs for pre-sear... Like what quest you have to do to unlock others. I'd give a link but I don't know if that's 'agaisnt the rules' 'round here... It's called the Pre-Searing Guide... I'd imagine they have one here as well.

hey good for you! make sure you sell thozse dyes NOT TO MERCHANT.
merchants are there so you can see what to charge REAL people. if merchant SELLS it for 7k and would give you 5k for it, you sell it for 6.5k, not less.

Pre Searing is really TRAINING for new people. I kinda liked the "pretty and green" Ascalon so when i took quest with my first char, i didnt know i was only in training. since i played Fable (on XBOX) there is a similar tyhing, but after you take quest the game is finished, so i waited until i was lvl 11 cuz i was worried that its the same thing there...(lol i had a surprise after!)
with my second character i left at lvl 6... cuz i knu i had money and that its not even the beggining of the game

i recomend with your first character to leave when you lvl 10... and wait to sell the dyes, you will sell them after
